At the middle school level, violations are cumulative and do not start over at the beginning of each year. Consequences may include, but are not limited to:
First breach of policy:
1. Teacher-student conference to advise/explain/counsel. The student will receive a zero for the assessment task. Counselling should include assistance in developing strategies for avoiding academic dishonesty and/or plagiarism.
2. Student will be given an opportunity to redo the assessment task or an alternative assessment task and awarded a reduced grade (at least by one band).
3. Student Management Coordinator notified.
Second breach of policy:
1. Referral to Student Management Coordinator and makes contact with the parent.
2. Teacher-student conference to advise/explain/counselling. The student will receive a zero for the assessment task. Counselling should include assistance in developing strategies for avoiding academic dishonesty and/or plagiarism.
3. Student will be given an opportunity to redo the assessment task or an alternative assessment task and awarded a reduced grade (at least by one band).
Third breach of policy:
1. Referral to Student Management Coordinator and makes contact with the parent
2. Head of Campus notified
3. Lowest grade awarded as determined by the classroom teacher
4. Detention / Suspension and Further advice and counselling
